What costs are involved?

Home Training Parade nights

Alpha Company parades every Wednesday night from 1800 (6:00pm) until 2030 (8:30pm) excluding Qld state school holidays. This is known as the Home Training Program (HT Program).

The HT Program contents includes a variety of activities including training for upcoming events such as drill for ANZAC Day, field craft / military skills for weekend exercises, visiting lecturers and general knowledge.

Yearly membership fee

$150 per year – Our membership year runs from July – June. This membership fee can be paid in full, half yearly or quarterly. Invoices are sent to each member and are to be paid in advance of the membership period, as per our Constitution.

$25.00 Annual Maintenance Fee – This per-family fee is charged at the beginning of the Financial Year (Pro-rated for members joining in the January intake).

We are a registered FairPlay Activity Provider which allows eligible families to apply for and submit a $150 voucher to assist in paying activity fees, membership fees, maintenance levies, etc. however it cannot be used for purchasing clothing or equipment. We can provide information on when, where and how to apply.

Uniform and Equipment

A large amount of uniform and equipment is on loan to the cadet while the cadet is enlisted in LCCC Inc. A REFUNDABLE Deposit of $150.00 for Issued Equipment must be paid when submitting your Membership application.

We require every member to purchase an embroidered nameplate to be sewn on to the DPCU shirt provided as part of the loaned equipment. The cost for this nameplate is $10 and will be ordered by the Unit when the names of all new enlistees has been finalised.

Alpha Company have their own sublimated T-Shirt, displaying the Unit logo, available as an optional, but recommended purchase. This shirt can be worn as an undershirt during the cooler months, or as part of a casual uniform where permitted. The cost of this shirt is $40.

Home training night fees (subs)

1 cadet – $10.00 per night
2 cadets – $18.00 per night
3 cadets – $24.00 per night

This fee includes a light meal provided by the Parent Support Group during the HT Program Wednesday night evening supper break and assists us to pay for costs such as electricity, water, rates, internet, etc.

Canned drinks can be purchased for $2.00 each.

** We are unable to provide for food allergies or specific dietary requirements, however families are welcome and encouraged to bring in their own meal in a labelled container and our kitchen assistants will be more than happy to heat it up, if required, prior to the meal break.

Weekend Training Exercises & Activities

Fees vary depending on the type of weekend exercise or activity. Weekend exercises usually range from $25.00 to $60.00 depending on the duration and catering requirements.

The LCCC has a rigid training program that requires cadets to pass certain modules to attain a command position, or promotion within the unit. The tests for these skills are done in a variety of ways however running field exercises to test the cadet’s ability is the best proven method for the cadet unit.

The unit conducts up to 6 weekend exercises per year which can include recruit training, field/bush craft, navigation, survival, leadership, military skills, range shoots and cadet challenges.
