The tests for these skills are done in a variety of ways; however running field exercises to test the cadet’s ability is the proven method for the cadet unit.
The unit conducts up to 6 weekend exercises a year which can include Recruit Training, Field/bush craft, navigation, survival, leadership, Military skills, range shoots and Cadet challenges.
A 6 monthly Parade Card (Jan-Jun & Jul-Dec) outlining the weekend exercises, HT Parade nights & other unit activities can be obtained from the Unit Reception Desk.
The Battalion Headquarters and Alpha Company has its own purpose built Cadet Hall named the Tom Hamilton Cadet Hall, Q-Store/Office building and toilet/shower block located in Acacia Park on Fern Street, in Browns Plains.
