Week-end Field Exercises
The LCCCU has a rigid training program that requires cadets to pass certain modules to attain a command position, or promotion within the unit. The tests for these skills are done in a variety of ways; however running field exercises to test the cadet's ability is the proven method for the cadet unit.
Weather permitting, we can run up to 6 field exercises per year, 3 of these are field orientated, 2 are leadership and development, and the last week-end exercise of the year is generally a non military, fun orientated week-end, at a non field location.
A 6 monthly Parade Card (Jan-Jun & Jul-Dec) outlining the week-end exercises, HT Parade nights & other unit activities can be obtained from the Unit Reception Desk.
Location
LCCCU is located at the shared Cadet & Scout facility in Acacia Park, Fern St Browns Plains QLD.
The unit has its own purpose built Cadet Hall named the Tom Hamilton Cadet Hall, Q-Store/Office building and toilet/shower block.
